I am ready to embrace myself and all that I am
I am ready to accept all the joys and privileges of being me
I am ready to hold myself and all of me, in the highest of my own esteem
knowing that far beyond all that i can imagine and dream
I know that there is a purpose to my journey

I am ready to call upon my store of energy, of creativity, of love, of inspiration
I am ready to be all the things to me that I need to be for myself
I am ready to be kinder, more loving, more forgiving, more gentle,
more embracing and more accepting of all that I am and also all that I am not
I am now ready to be
All of me.

When my heart is heavy

On the days my heart is heavy
And my chest feels constricted tight
There’s not much to do, I suppose
But rest and not put up a fight

To lie back and ride the waves
As rough seas bob up and down
Just hold on tight and stay afloat
Pray for a moments calm

It does help to always remember
That highs without lows cannot exist
And every star that twinkles
Needs the darkness to surround
For we cannot experience life
Without both it’s valleys and it’s mounds

So as I wait for the clouds to clear
For the sun to shine again
I find in my secret arsenal of promise
The whole of who I am
One who is of value, of worth and stature true
I bring my gifts of talents, strengths and wonders too

So on the days when my heart feels heavy
I sit and rest a while
I remind myself, this too shall pass
I’ll soon begin again with a smile.

but sometimes it is more
when demands and expectations are
greater than all the energies we have in store

And when the day is unfolding
In a way that is just hard
Take a breather, sit it out
Wait for rolling waves to depart

And when your little pick me up is done
And your spirits lifted buoyed
Reach up your arms victorious
Ready to show your might

The day is what you make of it
And sometimes it may be more
But I believe in the wonder that is you
The you I’m always rooting for

Sleep dearie sleep

Monday 19th Sept 2022: Queen Elizabeth was laid to rest in a State Funeral that was attended by Kings and Queens and State Leaders from all around the world. It was at her own request that Sleep Dearie Sleep, a traditional bagpipe piece will be played by the Queen’s Piper ended the service.

And as the Queen lay resting
Her solemn promise kept
For ‘I shall serve my people
Whether my life be long of short’

Hundreds upon thousands
Waited nights in the street
In queues all around
The epic Tower Bridge

A silent hush
An austere smile
Reminders of
Her devoted while

Ninety six years long
The life she led
Seventy dedicated
To the Crown and the land

Kings and Queens
And consorts bowed
Heads of states
All stayed a while

Thank you for your service
Ever grateful for your lead
Rest well now, sweet Queen
Sleep, dearie, sleep.
