Life is meant to be easy
Like the dew that settles 
upon the morning grass
And the light, breathless snowflakes 
as they drift down from above

Life is meant to be easy
Like a river heading out to sea, 
There is no undercurrent, 
simply floating on the surface 
Letting it all be

Life is meant to be easy
Troubles, worries, confusion, 
anger and regret
collectively left at the door
Let there be no hardship ever left in store

Life is meant to be easy
For challenges that may seem
an illusion of trouble
Conjuring all the issues
A tightening at the seams

Life is meant to be easy
Even though it’s not
always easy to see
the paths that are best and 
the routes that are not

Life is meant to be easy
For each and every one of us
for in the rhythm and in the dance
it’s all an embracing
of everything, the lot, the whole.

Life is meant to be easy
with sadness and with joy
with trouble or with ease
with adventures and with boredom
all together, all at peace
 
For everything’s a joyous ride
To leave you asking for more
To want, to give, to share, 
To live, to learn, to love
is what it’s meant to be

For nothing is as easy
as living the life you choose
in every moment of every day
Life is meant to be easy
for you, for me, for all.

Embracing You Completely As You Are

You are not just the past, 
The present 
or even the future

You are not just the events that have happened,
The tragedies that have occurred nor
All of the joyous moments cherished.

You are the sum 
of all of your experiences and 
the whole of all your  perceptions too

There is no right 
and no wrong in how you think, 
or what you feel, 

There are no shoulds or should haves
No coulds or could haves
Only the choices made at a particular moment in time

Through it all
There is only an embracing 
of the whole of you

Life is never a series of bad decisions
Or mistakes in timing
Or what ifs

Life is never a test or an examination
Neither is it simply a culmination of hard work
Big effort or deserveability 

Life for you is all exactly as it is meant to be
The beautiful, the good, 
the bad, the ugly

All of it to be embraced
All of it to be loved
All of it simply a reflection

Of the beauty the joy the passion and the love
Of the mighty, worthy person 
that you truly are.

Experiences do not happen to you
Experiences make you who you are
Embrace them

And through them all, 
embrace the complete whole 
of who you are.

What It Truly Means to Be Brave

Beyond the heroes and crime fighters,
Beyond the news of tremendous feats that pulsates its way around the world,
Beyond the telling and retelling, stories of ancient strength and power,
There lies an unknown, unspoken tale of bravery barely acknowledged, seldom told.

Of the mother, who braves the gut-wrenching, heart-stopping fear,
of realising,
she can no longer afford to feed her babies.

Of the father, who in that mind- numbing moment when his job,
the only family income,
becomes a casualty of a corporate takeover.

Of the husband, who finds the courage to tell his wife,
that no matter what the doctors say,
theirs has been a life of wonder and adventure like no other.

Of the man and woman along the street,
huddled together in a sleeping bag,
braving the cold and the indignity of stares.

And so far beyond the heroes,
whose worthy names we roll call,
Hear the feats of bravery of those whose names,
we will never know.

Feel the depths of love that spring forth,
From each of these valiant heroes of every day,
Celebrate all of theirs and especially, all of your own,
Acts of bravery each day.

Feel the pride in your step as you spring forward to greet everyday,
with the celebration of the gift that is each new day,
every moment that is a new beginning,
and every encounter, a feat of bravery in every way.

The Joy and Beauty of Being

To be present and hopeful
Ever filled with wonder and appreciation
For all the moments that we hold dear to us
As well as the ones that silently slip us by

Our days of living, of breathing
Of gently hoping that each day
Is filled with treasured memories
No matter how perfectly ordinary they may seem

And perhaps then, we may one day learn
That in the calm of taking time to simply be
We are truly taking time
To be everything that we yearn to be

This Journey We Call Life

It is often said
That every journey 
Starts with a single step


What is less often shared
is that the road upon which you travel
may be way-off the beaten track

It may be dim and foggy,
With no signposts to see
Nor streetlights to light the way


And yet if you can, when you can,
Take a step forward, and slowly you’ll begin to forge
A little more in the direction that you’re heading


And that’s when you know 
you’re definitely moving ahead and along
Even if it’s at a snails pace


Sometimes it may seem to be that a diversion is in place
A roadblock, a hump, a tragedy
A disaster, a catastrophe, maybe just an unexpected bend

But, with all things considered,
It may have been, just be the most valuable
And the most important part of your journey

Other times, it may feel as if, you’ve reached an impasse
Or stopped at a rest stop for far too long
Unmoving, unchanging, stuck.

Perhaps it was just time for you
to have a break, a rest, a breather
To find some calm, enjoy the stillness, surrender in tranquility

Maybe it was time
for a change in direction
Or a regrouping of sorts


Just remember that
Every journey that you’re on,
whether you’re travelling near or far

Is an adventure meant for you
From the encounters, to the landscapes
From the people, to the beasts

Each is dutifully yours
To make the most of,
to make the best of

Embrace it all,
This wonderful unfolding
Of life and all of its ways

Let it show you, please you, delight you
May you find excitement on dull days
And may tranquil serenity seek you out on the stormy seas

And most of all,
May you embrace, in a million magnificent ways
All of the wonders in this Journey we call Life
